Ipads In Other High Schools

Other high schools around the country are also giving students an Ipad. Each school is doing different things with the Ipad, but all are obviously using it to change education in the schools. Some schools will be the first in their state to make all the students have Ipads. Some schools are totally eliminating books from the program and using the Ipads to get books. Our school has not totally stopped using books, and is transitioning into the Ipads. It is probably a better idea to transition into them so the students and teachers can get an idea of how the education will be different in the upcoming years.

TargetX CRM Tool

Colleges are using TargetX to track social web chatter. They are using the tool to view the web chatter and using it to recruit students. Since students or potential students post things on social networking sites that are important to them, colleges can find out why or why not they might enroll in their school, and they can see interests of the students. This allows the colleges to see more of the students than how they are in school. The tool helps the colleges see the best students for the school, which can change the colleges a lot.

Class

Web 2.0 class has taught me some useful things about the Internet. The video he have been making in class is good, and hopefully other people will see it and see how outdated the classrooms in schools are. Before this class, I did not think technology could be as useful as some of the new things about the Internet I discovered. For example, Google reader is useful because you do not have to go keep going to a bunch of different websites to get a lot of information. Also, the ways to limit the searching on Google. The class video project will hopefully spread how useful technology can actually be.
